El BCCI organizó un vuelo especial de Air India, denominado “Campeones Mundiales de Cricket 24”, para llevar a Rohit Sharma y su equipo de regreso a casa después de ganar el trofeo T20.

In what has come as a great development, Team India have finally boarded an Air India flight from Barbados to Delhi. This comes after a four-day delay due to Hurricane Beryl which caused flight cancellations and airport closures.

The Indian team scripted history in the T20 World Cup final against South Africa, beating the Proteas team in a last-over thriller at the Kensington Oval. However, their celebrations were cut short as they were unable to depart Barbados due to the hurricane. Rohit Sharma and his team were stuck at the airport for four days, waiting for the weather conditions to improve.

BCCI arranges a special flight

With the skies finally clearing up, the BCCI arranged a special Air India flight, aptly named “Cricket 24 World Champion,” to bring the team and stranded Indian journalists back home. The flight is scheduled to land in Delhi at 6:00 AM (IST) on Thursday.

Rohit Sharma recently shared a photo on social media featuring himself and Suryakumar Yadav holding the trophy onboard the plane.

The ordeal of the past four days seems to be behind Team India now. Doordarshan even posted a video showcasing the team boarding the flight, marking the end of their extended stay in Barbados. The team and the fans can now look forward to a hero’s welcome upon their arrival in Delhi.
