Prior to departing with the Indian team for their tour of Zimbabwe, batter Riyan Parag misplaced both his passport and two phones. The all-rounder from Assam claimed it was due to excitement, but he recovered each one in time to board the flight to Harare with the rest of the Indian team.

Riyan Parag’s excited state invites trouble

So excited that I’ve forgotten my passport. I’ve forgotten my phone. I’ve not forgotten, I’ve misplaced them. But I have it now,” Parag, who has earned his maiden India call-up, said in a video posted by BCCI.

The youthful Indian team, without the majority of its T20 World Cup-winning players, gathered in Mumbai on Monday evening and prepared to leave from the Chhatrapati Shivaji International Airport under the leadership of Shubman Gill. After a hiatus, Gill—a traveling reserve for the T20 World Cup team—arrived in Harare from New York.
