India’s shooters in the Olympics have been a success story. Abhinav Bindra made the country proud by winning the first individual gold medal in Olympic history in the men’s 10m air rifle at Beijing 2008. This time, Manu Bhaker, along with rifle shooters Aishwary Pratap Singh Tomar, Anjum Moudgil, and Elavenil Valarivan, will return for their second Olympic Games. The other 11 rifle and pistol shooters will be making their Olympic debuts.

India’s shooting team for Paris Olympics

The Indian squad includes Sift Kaur Samra, who set a world record in the final of the 50m rifle 3 positions at the Asian Games last year, winning an individual gold medal.

Along with Manu, the three-woman pistol squad consists of 19-year-old shooter Esha Singh, who took home four medals from the Asian Games.

The Indian 10m air pistol squad includes two Asian Games champions, Sarabjot Singh and Arjun Singh Cheema.

Among the well-known figures who were left off of the Paris Olympics roster were Asian Games medallist Ashi Chouksey, Tokyo Olympian Divyansh Singh Panwar, and former world champion Rudrankksh Patil.
