Tiro con arco indio en los Juegos Olímpicos de París 2024: sede, eventos, equipo y calendario

India is sending a contingent of 6 archers to the Paris Olympics 2024. Three archers from men’s and three from women’s events will be participating in the games. 

Archery was first included in the summer games in 1900. Since then, it has been included 17 times. This is the 18th time archery has made its appearance at the Olympics.

India is still waiting for its first archery medal at the games. veteran Deepika Kumari and Tarundeep Rai will be making their fourth Olympic appearance in Paris.

Deepika has been a part of every Olympics since 2012. Tarundeep Rai made his Olympic debut in Athens in 2004 and represented the nation in London 2012 and Tokyo 2020 as well. 

India Squad for Archery in Paris 2024

Dhiraj Bommadevera, Tarundeep Rai, and Pravin Ramesh Jadhav will compete in individual and team events. whereas Bhajan Kaur, Deepika Kumari, and Ankita Bhakat will compete in individual and team events as well. 

There will be men’s individual, women’s individual, men’s team, women’s team, and mixed team events. 

Venue for Archery at the Paris Olympics 

Archery will be played at Les Invalides. The Esplanade des Invalides is a garden surrounding one of Paris’ most beautiful monuments.

In 1687, Louis XIV built the Hôtel des Invalides as a military hospital and retirement home for war veterans.

India to take part in individual and team events

India’s players will participate in individual and team events at the Paris Olympics in 2024. The participation of archers in mixed-team events entirely depends on the individual events. The top individual archers securing a place in the top 16 will make a team. Deepika Kumari and Praveen Jadhav teamed up during the Tokyo Olympics because they performed well in the individual events. 

The events will take place from July 25 to August 4.
