Senior Indian pacer Mohammed Shami has hit back at “baseless” rumours that have been circulating all day regarding his new injury. Earlier today, there were reports saying that Team India have a fresh jolt to handle as Shami is suffering from “swollen knees”. Reportedly, the star pacer, who has 229 Test wickets, would be out for six to eight weeks. However, Shami has retaliated against all these rumours, saying that neither him nor the BCCI mentioned that Shami is out from the Border-Gavaskar Trophy later this year.

Mohammed Shami taking to his X (Twitter account), wrote, “Why these type of baseless rumors? I’m working hard and trying my level best to recover. Neither the BCCI nor me have mentioned that I am out of the Border Gavaskar series. I request the public to stop paying attention to such news from unofficial sources. Please stop and don’t spread such fake fake fake & fake news, especially without my statement.

Shami is ready for Australia vs India Test series!

The way Shami hit back against his injury rumours indicates that he is fit and soon to be firing in all cylinders. The recently turned 34-year-old has been recovering from his Achilles tendon surgery at the National Cricket Academy (NCA). However, he has started bowling in the nets and might soon be in India colors.

India’s next assignment is against New Zealand, who will travel for a three-match Test series, starting from October 16. However, it is unlikely for Shami to get recover by the first Test. Regardless, he will be of paramount importance in the Border-Gavaskar Trophy Down Under in November.
