Kevin Pietersen took to social media platform X to lament over the condition of the pitch in Multan. Calling it a bowler’s graveyard, the ex-England star claimed that it was only helping destroy Test cricket if the wicket did not crumble and helped in providing a result. At this moment, the game is poised to be drawn with both teams sweating it out in the middle for the remainder of the days.

Michael Atherton, Michael Vaughan and Nasser Hussain are some of the other cricketers who have been critical of the pitch at the Multan cricket stadium. Pietersen had referred to the surface as bowler’s graveyard earlier as well as England bowlers found very little success on the first two days of play. Vaughan had gone on to compare the pitch to a road in Multan, taking a subtle dig at the surface.

Hussain has opined that Test cricket cannot be played on pitches that stay flat for five days. He added that the surface was too batter friendly and pointed out that Test cricket required an even competition with both bat and ball.
