Zaman expressed his disapproval on social media, suggesting that such a move could demoralize the team. The PCB has given Zaman a week to justify his comments. Zaman argued that dropping Azam, a top-performing player and arguably the best Pakistan has ever produced, could send a negative message to the team. He drew a comparison to India’s continued support for Virat Kohli, despite his recent struggles, emphasizing that such a decision could undermine the confidence of key players.
The board has given Zaman a week to explain his position. This incident could further strain his relationship with the board, as he has previously expressed dissatisfaction with their treatment of him and other players regarding NOCs for international leagues.
