Just a day prior to the IND vs NZ Test in Bengaluru, an unfortunate news has emerged for Team India. It seems batter Shubman Gill might not be able to take part in the match owing to a stiff neck. As per a report in India Today, Shubman Gill has already informed the team management about the same, but the final decision will only be made on the morning of the match.

Shubman Gill Out, Sarfaraz Khan In?

Now, that in short could pave way for including Sarfaraz Khan into the playing XI, who despite playing against England earlier this year, missed out on the matches against Bangladesh, that India won 2-0. It must also be noted that Gill has been excellent in the last few matches, especially in the second innings of Tests.

This year Shubman has played 8 Tests and has scored 662 runs at an average of 50.92. That also includes three centuries. On the other hand, Sarfaraz Khan has been decent in whatever limited opportunities he has gotten. In the three matches, he has scored 200 runs at an average of 50, with a highest-score of 68.
